Tapestry cushions can be part of a matching set or a nice touch on their own

Tapestry cushions can add a very classic look to your room and provide splashes of color and warmth. They can be small toss cushions on a chair or couch. They may also be the covering over the cushion of a footstool or small chair. They may be many different sizes but there is a common size of nineteen by nineteen inches. A small size of tapestry like tapestry cushions are referred to as panels. The tapestry part may be used as small wall hanging and some even come already made with a sleeve for the hanging rod. They can be very attractive when hung in groupings on a wall.

You can often find tapestry cushions that are made to compliment or match larger throws or wall hangings that you are using in one room or as a theme through your house. They can be purchased in matched sets or coordinated by the decorator based on color and subject of the patterns. Collecting tapestry can be an ongoing pleasure for people through out their lives as they furnish their homes and add to it all with them. Families with ancient roots may even pass collections of tapestries on through the generations.

Some tapestry cushions are produced complete with zippered pouches for the filling and matching piping around the edges. This adds a very nice finished look to the cushions and provides a bit of protection to the edges of the tapestry. The piping and backing may be change several times in the life of a fine tapestry.
