Let you imagination join the hunt while you relax and enjoy your new tapestries with hunting scenes

Tapestries are like paintings and the artists often select subjects and scenes from the world around them. Tapestries with hunting scenes have appeared as a theme through many ages of tapestry weaving and still find their place in homes today. The most popular tapestries with hunting scenes show the English countryside and their gentlemanly sport of fox hunting. The pictures will often depict many men on horseback with their loyal hounds at their side. They are often set in a treed area and you get the feeling they are ready to begin the hunt. In some tapestries you can almost share their excitement.

Tapestries with hunting scenes can be seen as a small view of history preserved in the weave. The pictures are often a good representation of fashions and styles of the period. They may make note of the architecture of the time and details of horticultural and animal husbandry techniques and equipment. The canvases are often very busy with all the animals and people and the feeling of excitement that the hunt has created. With a bit of imagination you can smell the trees and flowers and hear the horses paw the ground.

There are many reproductions available of famous tapestries with hunting scenes. The originals can usually be found in the great museums of the world and are preserved as national treasures. The patterns are reproduced by machine these days and do not go through the slow production process that the originals did. They still can find admiring viewers in today’s homes.
